2024 Skoda Superb Reveals Sleeker and Lengthier Design

Skoda has released a new gallery showcasing the upcoming Superb sedan, which will complete the lineup alongside the Combi estate. While the Superb has a low-slung three-box silhouette that resembles a traditional sedan, it is actually a hatchback, as the boot opens with the rear glass. The previous generations of the Superb have featured different configurations, with the second-gen having a clever twin tailgate mechanism and the third-gen and upcoming fourth-gen being classic five-door hatchbacks.

The 2024 Skoda Superb Hatchback has grown in size compared to its predecessor. It measures 4,912 mm (193.4 inches) long, 1,834 mm (72.2 inches) wide, and 1,481 mm (58.3 inches) tall, with a wheelbase of 2,841 mm (111.9 inches). The sleeker body design has also resulted in an improved drag coefficient of 0.24 cd. The Hatchback is slightly longer than the Combi estate, with a small difference attributed to the rear overhang.

Skoda has already revealed the interior of the Superb, which features a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. The center console is equipped with a trio of rotary push-button dials with integrated screens for controlling various functions. The Superb lineup includes different versions, such as the Essence, Selection, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement, each offering unique features. The interior textiles are made from 100% recycled polyester, and there is an eco-friendly tanning process for the optional leather upholstery.

The Superb hatchback has a boot capacity of 645 lt (22.8 cubic feet), slightly smaller than the Combi's 690 lt (24.4 cubic feet). The vehicle also offers 28 Simply Clever features that enhance practicality, which is one of the core values of the Skoda brand.

Unlike the Superb Combi, the Superb hatchback will not be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain option. The Superb rides on an improved version of the MQB architecture and offers a range of powertrain options, including diesel, petrol, mild-hybrid petrol, and plug-in hybrid. However, the 1.5 TSI iV plug-in hybrid with 201 hp (204 PS) and more than 100 km (62 miles) of electric range will only be available for the Superb Combi. Those interested in an electrified Superb hatchback will have to settle for the mild-hybrid option.

The official debut of the 2024 Skoda Superb is scheduled for November, but more teasers are expected to be released by the company leading up to that date.
