Honda's Sustainable Vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show

Honda is showcasing a wide range of two-wheel and four-wheel concepts at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, offering a glimpse into potential future production offerings. The exhibition features an array of vehicles, including cars, bikes, robots, and even an aircraft. One of the standout concepts is the revived Prelude, now presented as a production-intent concept sports car.

But that's not all - Honda has more surprises in store. Among them is the Sustaina-C Concept, a sustainable small hatchback made from recycled materials. Another interesting concept is the CI-MEV, a heavy quadricycle designed for autonomous adventures.

The Sustaina-C concept resembles a boxier version of the Honda e, with a body constructed from recycled acrylic resin. The Pocket Concept, a compact electric two-wheeler with futuristic styling, also utilizes the same sustainable material. Additionally, the SC e: Concept, an electric scooter suitable for urban environments, features the swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: to eliminate the need for waiting during charging.

Turning back to four-wheelers, the Honda CI-MEV is an urban two-seater concept that combines "Cooperative Intelligence" and autonomous technology. It serves as a last-mile solution for individuals with limited mobility. While the concept appears to be a potential competitor to microcars and heavy quadricycles, it remains uncertain whether Honda plans to put it into production. Furthermore, a mysterious prototype of a light commercial EV was not included in the preview images, leaving its future unknown. On a similar note, the Honda Autonomous Work Vehicle is an experimental platform featuring various attachments.

The exhibition is not limited to concepts for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Honda is also showcasing an interior mockup of the HondaJet Elite II small business jet, an exterior scale model of the Honda eVTOL aircraft, and a gas turbine hybrid system that is currently under development. Additionally, visitors can explore the "alter-ego" robot called Avatar, the Uni-One seated mobility device with balance control, the Power Exporter e: 6000 portable external power supply device, and other electric products utilizing the swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e:.

Lastly, Honda has invited people to create their own "dream project" using AI on a dedicated website. The resulting drawings will be displayed on LED screens at the show alongside Honda's own projects, and visitors will have the opportunity to take them home in the form of a card.
