Investigation into Ram Truck Crashes

On the NHTSA website, detailed user issues can be found. One owner from Trenton, ME, shares their experience of the EPS cutting out intermittently. They mention that sometimes the power steering is there and sometimes it's not. They discovered that other vehicles from the same year and manufacturer have the same problem and have been recalled, but for some reason not others.

An even more concerning testimonial comes from an owner from Monroe, GA. They explain that their truck lost steering power completely, but luckily they were able to stop without causing an accident. However, they emphasize that they had no control over the steering at all.

In a recent development, 29,000 units of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks were issued a "do not drive" advisory due to Takata Airbag recalls.

The NHTSA's investigation into the power steering issues is still ongoing, and a decision regarding a potential recall has yet to be determined. Nevertheless, the agency urges owners of the affected Ram 1500s to promptly report any power steering issues they encounter.
