Shooting in Dorchester, Boston leaves seven injured

During a Caribbean festival in Boston, shots broke out, resulting in seven people being injured. The incident occurred at 7:45 a.m. in the Dorchester neighborhood. Fortunately, all the victims were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, as reported by Boston 25.

According to the Boston police, several individuals were arrested, and multiple guns were recovered at the scene of the shooting. This incident took place during the annual Caribbean Carnival, which began early Saturday. Prior to 8 a.m., reports of the shooting were received by the police via Twitter.

The city's Caribbean Carnival is an annual event that commenced early Saturday. A parade, starting at 6:30 a.m., was part of the festivities, as mentioned in a police notice. Unfortunately, violence has marred the festival in the past. Last year, one person lost their life, and several others were injured during the two parades associated with the event, according to Fox News. Additionally, CBS News reported that an innocent bystander was shot and killed during the festival in 2014.

Aside from the injuries sustained by the victims, no life-threatening harm was caused, as confirmed by Boston 25. The police also stated that multiple individuals were apprehended, and several guns were seized at the scene. A video shared on social media by Insider Newspaper captures the chaotic scene as crowds hurriedly fled from the location of the early morning shooting.
