Tesla Cybertrucks spotted undergoing winter testing in New Zealand

Tesla has been conducting extensive testing of its upcoming steel-bodied Cybertruck over the past two months. Some of this testing is taking place in New Zealand, which is known for its favorable winter testing conditions.

Recently, there have been sightings of up to five Cybertrucks at the test site, indicating an increase in testing efforts. Previously, only two Cybertrucks with unique camouflage wraps had been spotted.

These sightings were made possible by pictures shared on Twitter by a Cybertruck enthusiast in New Zealand, known as CybertruckNZ. One of the pictures shows three steel-bodied Cybertrucks parked next to a shed, with the tailgate of the far-right truck labeled as "Cybr-ute."

In addition to the steel-bodied Cybertrucks, camouflaged test units were also seen in the pictures, bringing the total count to at least five units on site. These units also featured the triangular rear side mirrors, which are expected in the production version of the Cybertruck.

Fans of the Cybertruck found the increase in the number of vehicles amusing, with one person commenting, "They've been sneaking them in."

It is worth noting that the first Tesla Cybertruck with a large frunk opening was spotted at the winter test site in June. This particular unit was delivered to the site in a covered trailer.

Recently, new photos were shared showing the frunk of a Cybertruck being opened, revealing some of its internal components. While the exact nature of these components is unclear, it is evident that the frunk extends across a significant portion of the Cybertruck's width.

The size of the Cybertruck makes other vehicles parked closer to the camera appear much smaller in comparison.

The winter testing for Tesla vehicles takes place at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG) in the South Island of New Zealand. This testing is timely, as the Cybertruck is expected to enter production later this quarter.

With the first customer delivery event for the Cybertruck just weeks away, the large number of vehicles undergoing winter testing is a clear indication of Tesla's commitment to ensuring the vehicle's performance in all terrains.

This will instill confidence in the hundreds of thousands of reservation holders who will be eagerly awaiting the Cybertruck's release in the coming years.
