Totem GT Super: Revived Alfa 105-series with Powerful V6
【Summary】Italian firm Totem has unveiled its rendition of a 105-series Alfa Romeo coupe called the Totem GT. Originally planned as an all-electric model, a petrol-powered version with a bespoke dry-sumped 2.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine has been added. The Totem GT Super delivers 740bhp and 627lb ft of torque, and with its lightweight construction, it promises supercar-level performance.
105-series Alfa Romeos are known for their beautiful styling and well-engineered features, making them the perfect base for classic Italian restomods. Alfaholics has already showcased their impressive GTA-R model, but with a nine-year waiting list, there's an opportunity for a new contender to enter the market. Totem, an Italian firm, has created their own version of a 105 coupe called the Totem GT, which will be unveiled in the UK at Salon Privé later this month.
Originally introduced as an all-electric modernized classic in 2020, the Totem GT has now expanded to include a petrol-powered V6 model. Despite the change in powertrain, the design language and chassis remain consistent. The Totem GT features a bespoke, wide-body carbon fiber exterior, with very little carried over from the original donor car. Totem combines the bulkhead of an original Alfa GT Junior with a new carbon fiber chassis and steel subframes at the front and rear. The result is a significantly more advanced layout than the GT Junior's unibody chassis and solid rear axle design.
The V6-engined model, known as the Totem GT Super, boasts a bespoke dry-sumped 2.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. With 592 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, this powerful motor revs up to 7500rpm and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox mounted at the rear axle. For those seeking even more power, Totem offers a stage 2 performance package that includes a supercharger and a raised 8500rpm rev limit. With this upgrade, the stage 2 engine produces a staggering 740 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. While performance figures have yet to be announced, it's safe to say that the lightweight GT Super, weighing just 1180kg, will rival some of the top supercars in terms of performance.
