2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's European Appearance Unveiled

The Hyundai Palisade has been a popular choice for Hyundai customers who desire a three-row SUV with minivan practicality and an improved ride height. However, for those who also want to venture into remote places occasionally, the all-new Santa Fe is a great option. Although slightly smaller than the Palisade, the redesigned Santa Fe offers a fresh look and competes with luxurious SUVs at attractive starting prices. If Hyundai can offer a reasonable MSRP and reliable powertrains, it has the potential for a major success. The 2024 Santa Fe will be available in North America and Europe, with South Koreans able to order it starting in September of this year.

While details on pricing and drivetrain options for North America are still unknown, it is worth noting that the European version of the SUV will have a different appearance. The European model will not feature the bold light bar design found on the front of the vehicle. This decision was made after the light bar did not perform well in Euro NCAP safety tests. Despite this change, the Santa Fe will still have a masculine and rugged appearance, along with practical interior features. The H-shaped daytime-running lights and imposing body will ensure that the SUV stands out on European roads.

The slim light bar design has become a clever way for some automakers to differentiate their all-electric vehicles. While there is no confirmation of an all-electric Santa Fe at this time, a plug-in hybrid version will be available in most markets. Americans and Canadians can look forward to a slightly enhanced appearance for the 2024 Santa Fe.

In order to achieve the highest safety rating, automakers selling cars in Europe must meet updated testing procedures. Euro NCAP now requires child presence detection systems, easy operation of electronically-operated windows and doors in case of submergence, and advanced autonomous emergency braking systems that protect motorcyclists, pedestrians, and cyclists. These measures are aimed at preventing head-on collisions and ensuring the safety of all road users.
