2024 Nissan Z Price Leak
【Summary】The pricing for the 2024 Nissan Z has leaked online, revealing that it will be more expensive than anticipated. The base Sport model will start at $42,210, while the high-spec Nismo variant will retail for $64,990. The Nismo offers upgraded features and performance, but its price puts it in competition with the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang Dark Horse. The lower-trimmed Z still offers good value for the money compared to the Toyota Supra.
Pricing details for the 2024 Nissan Z have apparently been leaked on web forums, and it seems that the new model will be a bit more expensive than expected. The high-spec Nismo variant, in particular, will really stretch your budget.
According to information shared on the New Nissan Z Forum, the 2024 Nissan Z Sport will have a starting price of $42,210, while the more hardcore Z Performance will start at $52,210. This is before the addition of the $1,095 destination charge, making the vehicle cost over a thousand dollars more than last year.
While the starting price of the coupe remains close to what was anticipated, the Nismo variant does not offer the same performance value as the lower trims.
The Nismo version of the Z will feature a tuned-up twin-turbocharged V6 engine with 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. However, it is expected to retail for $64,990. In addition to the increased power, owners will get RAYS alloy wheels, upgraded brakes, stiffened suspension, Recaro seats, unique side skirts, special color options, a ducktail spoiler, and more. The Z Performance also comes with upgrades like a limited-slip differential, but it can be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. The Nismo, on the other hand, only comes with a nine-speed automatic.
While the Nismo variant is a nice package, it is more expensive compared to its competition.
Although the Nismo model was not expected to be a bargain, Nissan has positioned it dangerously close to competitors like the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang Dark Horse. While these models may not be faster, they have larger engines with more power. This may sway buyers who are not solely focused on the Z's heritage.
However, the lower-trimmed Z still offers good value for the money. In terms of price and on-paper performance, the base Nissan Z surpasses the 2.0-liter model of the Toyota Supra. The comparison becomes more complicated when pitted against a Toyota equipped with the 3.0-liter DOHC 24-valve inline six engine.
The true value proposition will become clear once everyone has had a chance to drive these models. However, the Nismo Z will need to offer significant upgrades over the Performance trim to justify its higher price tag, assuming the leaked pricing is accurate.
Nissan is expected to officially announce the pricing for the 2024 Z later this month.
