2024 Nissan Z Pricing Revealed
【Summary】The 2024 Nissan Z is expected to be more expensive than anticipated, with the high-spec Nismo variant costing $64,990. The Nismo variant comes with a tuned-up 420 horsepower engine, upgraded features, and a nine-speed automatic transmission. However, the pricing puts it in competition with models like the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang Dark Horse, which offer larger engines and more power. The base Nissan Z, on the other hand, offers better value for money compared to the Toyota Supra.
Pricing details for the 2024 Nissan Z have reportedly leaked on web forums, revealing a higher price tag than expected. The base model, the 2024 Nissan Z Sport, is said to start at $42,210, while the more performance-oriented Z Performance variant is expected to start at $52,210. These prices are before the addition of the $1,095 destination charge, making the new models more expensive than their predecessors.
However, it's the high-spec Nismo variant that really stands out in terms of price. The Nismo variant, which features a tuned-up 420 horsepower twin-turbocharged V6 engine, is rumored to retail for $64,990. In addition to the increased power, the Nismo comes with various performance upgrades, such as RAYS alloy wheels, upgraded brakes, stiffened suspension, Recaro seats, unique side skirts, special color options, a ducktail spoiler, and more. Unlike the Z Performance, the Nismo is only available with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
While the Nismo offers an impressive package, it's priced dangerously close to competitors like the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang Dark Horse. Although these models may not be faster, they do feature larger engines with more power. This could sway buyers who prioritize engine size and power over the Nissan Z's heritage.
However, the base Nissan Z still offers a lot of value for the money. Compared to the Toyota Supra 2.0-liter model, the base Z outperforms it in terms of price and on-paper performance. The comparison becomes more complex when pitted against a Toyota equipped with the 3.0-liter DOHC 24-valve inline six engine.
Ultimately, the true value proposition of the new Nissan Z models will be determined once they are available for test drives. It remains to be seen if the Nismo variant justifies its higher price tag compared to the Z Performance. Nissan is expected to officially announce the pricing for the 2024 models later this month.
