Tesla Cybertruck's impressive towing capacity and additional information unveiled in new Tesla advertisement
【Summary】Tesla's upcoming Cybertruck, set for customer deliveries in less than 10 days, has been revealed to have a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs, making it one of the most tow-capable electric vehicles on the market. The specifications were spotted in an ad that touts the Cybertruck as the "world's toughest truck." The vehicle's off-roading and towing capabilities have been showcased in recent sightings, generating excitement for the over a million order holders.
In 2019, Tesla introduced the world to its Cybertruck design, which quickly garnered over a million reservations due to its distinctive angular appearance and promised off-roading and towing capabilities.
Now, just days away from customer deliveries, an advertisement has surfaced that provides insight into the Cybertruck's towing capacity.
The ad, which labels the Cybertruck as the "world's toughest truck," was discovered by Tesla enthusiast Dylan and shared on X.
The banner image showcases the Cybertruck and highlights five key features, including its towing specifications:
- Ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeleton
- Shatter-resistant glass
- Ultra-tough SMC bed with a payload capacity of up to 2,500 lbs
- Adaptive air suspension with on-road and off-road drive modes
- 11,000 lbs of towing power
While it remains unclear which variant of the Cybertruck these specifications refer to, it is expected that they pertain to the top-of-the-range "Performance" model, which will be equipped with a tri-motor powertrain.
Regardless, a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs positions the Cybertruck as one of the most capable electric vehicles on the market, estimated to have a 5-tonne tow rating.
In recent weeks, there have been sightings of the Cybertruck engaged in towing activities. One such instance involved the Cybertruck pulling a large trailer, which carried a Tesla Model Y and a toolbox. The combined weight of the Model Y and the trailer exceeded 2,000 kg.
Another recent sighting took place in Florida, where the Cybertruck was observed towing a sizable boat.
The Cybertruck's off-roading capabilities have also been demonstrated, with sightings of the vehicle covered in mud and conquering hills on off-roading tracks.
Tesla has intentionally kept the key specifications of the Cybertruck under wraps, with the official announcement expected to take place on November 30th. This unique marketing approach has generated anticipation among the over a million customers who have placed orders.
The delivery event later this month is anticipated to reveal a comprehensive list of Cybertruck variants and their respective prices.
