2024 Skoda Kodiaq PHEV's interior receives major revamp

The next-generation Skoda Kodiaq is set to have an updated interior, as revealed by new images released by the Czech firm. One notable feature is the inclusion of physical dial controls for important functions. These three dials, located between the centre console and dashboard, can be customized to adjust various settings. In the official images, they are shown managing the climate settings for the front occupants, with stereo volume control positioned between them.

Users will have the ability to use the dials on either side of the front occupants to control the cabin temperature, seat heating or ventilation, according to their preferences. The central controller, on the other hand, can be used to alter the fan speed, air direction, volume of the sound system, driving mode, or zoom level of the sat-nav map. This offers a range of options for personalizing the driving experience.

Aside from the dial controls, the new images also showcase a large 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument display in the Kodiaq's interior. These modern features add to the overall convenience and technology offered by the vehicle.

In terms of design, the automatic gear selector has been relocated from the centre console to a stalk on the steering wheel. This change not only enhances the aesthetics of the interior but also creates more legroom for the front occupants, improving comfort during long drives.

Connectivity has also been a focus in the design of the new Kodiaq. The vehicle is equipped with USB-C ports, which can be found on the rear-view mirror and centre console. Additionally, a 15W wireless phone-charging box has been integrated into the centre console, providing a convenient way to charge mobile devices on the go.

The upcoming release of the new Kodiaq marks a significant milestone for Skoda. The Kodiaq is part of a successful series of SUVs produced by the Czech automaker, with the original Kodiaq being the standout debut. Following its success, Skoda went on to release the Karoq and Kamiq models. Now, the company is returning to its roots with a new Kodiaq set to be launched in the first quarter of 2024.

The second-generation Kodiaq will continue to share parts with other models in the Volkswagen Group, including the new VW Tiguan. Prices, trim levels, and equipment details will be confirmed later this year. The lineup is expected to include a standard Kodiaq model as well as a sportier-looking SportLine version, both of which will offer seven seats. Furthermore, a hotter Skoda Kodiaq vRS version is anticipated to join the range approximately a year later, providing an even more performance-oriented option for customers.
