Baidu and Geely's self-driving EV delivery begins, challenging Tesla's Model Y

Baidu and Geely, two major players in China's automotive industry, have joined forces to create a new electric vehicle (EV) model with self-driving capabilities. This collaboration aims to compete with Tesla's popular Model Y in the highly competitive Chinese market.

The new EV, called JiYue 01, is a premium battery-powered sport-utility vehicle (SUV) that offers advanced features such as an autonomous driving system and voice-activated control technology. It is priced competitively, ranging from 249,000 yuan (US$34,148) to 339,900 yuan.

JiYue 01 boasts an impressive range of up to 720 kilometers on a single charge, making it a viable option for those looking for a long-range electric vehicle. This puts it in direct competition with Tesla's Model Y, which has a similar price range of between 263,900 yuan and 363,900 yuan.
