A tragic incident occurred at the US-Canada border in Niagara Falls, where a car explosion claimed the lives of a New York businessman and his wife. The couple, whose identities have not been released, were driving a $300,000 Bentley at the time of the accident.

According to reports, the 56-year-old businessman and his wife had briefly visited the Seneca Niagara casino resort before the incident. It is believed that they were not regular visitors and may have stopped there only to exchange money.

A spokesman for the resort stated that they are fully cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation into the incident. They confirmed that the couple had stopped at the casino for a matter of minutes before the crash occurred.

The couple had plans to attend a Kiss concert in Canada, as revealed by CNN. The man was reportedly from a prominent family in Grand Isle, New York, and had a preexisting medical condition.

The explosion resulted in the closure of the Rainbow Bridge, a major crossing point between the US and Canada, just before the Thanksgiving holiday, which is known for being one of the busiest travel days of the year.

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul addressed the incident in a press conference, expressing relief that there were no further injuries. She emphasized that there is currently no evidence of terrorism and referred to the incident as a tragic crash rather than an accident.

Given the heightened state of alertness due to global events, Governor Hochul acknowledged the sensitivity surrounding incidents at international borders. However, she reassured the public that there is no indication of any terrorism activity at this time.
