Dacia closes website for Black Friday
【Summary】Dacia, known for its budget-friendly cars, is shutting down its online sales and car configurator on Black Friday. The brand wants to show its commitment to being the UK's top car manufacturer for value. Dacia believes that 70% of Brits see Black Friday as a marketing gimmick. The online sales and configurator site will resume the following day.
Dacia, the Romanian automotive firm known for its playful jabs at the industry, is once again making waves - this time with its approach to Black Friday. Rather than capitalizing on the discount frenzy, Dacia has announced that it will be shutting down its online sales and car configurator for the day.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, explained the decision, stating, "At Dacia, Black Friday is just a normal Friday. Shutting down our online sales for the day is a bold move, but it demonstrates our commitment to being the UK's leading car manufacturer for value."
Dacia's stance on Black Friday seems to align with the sentiment of the UK population, as 70% of Brits view the shopping event as a mere marketing gimmick. In an effort to help consumers "tune out of the Black Friday noise," Dacia will even release a radio advert featuring relaxing sounds.
The Dacia online sales and configurator site will resume operations on Saturday, November 25th. However, customers looking to purchase a car from Dacia on Black Friday may interpret the brand's actions as a way of combating the very marketing gimmick it criticizes.
