A car dealership employee has confessed to stealing over £12,000 from his workplace. Gordon Thomson, aged 54, committed the embezzlement at the Lloyd Land Rover showroom in Kelso between April and May 2019, as reported on the Planet Radio website.
According to court documents, Thomson held a position of trust at the Scottish Borders dealership when he carried out the offense. During his appearance at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, Thomson, who resides in East Lothian, admitted to embezzling £12,350 from the dealership, which is part of the Car Dealer Top 100 group Lloyd Motors.
Sheriff Peter Paterson decided to postpone the sentencing for six months, allowing Thomson the chance to repay the entire sum of money that he had taken in various amounts. Thomson is required to return to court on February 26.
However, the sheriff cautioned Thomson that he will still face consequences when he comes back to court.
