An Arkansas man named Nathaniel has been left devastated after his beloved car, a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo named Chase, was written off. Nathaniel gained attention over a decade ago when he revealed his intimate relationship with Chase on an episode of TLC's 'My Strange Addiction'. He admitted to having sex with his car and expressed his love for it by getting intimate with its machinery.
In an update shared on TLC's Instagram, Nathaniel revealed that their love ran out of fuel. He has tried to move on with several new cars but admitted that none of them can replace Chase. He described his latest fling as more of a "friends with benefits" situation.
Nathaniel broke down as he shared the heartbreaking news that Chase was written off four years ago. He described their relationship as "love at first sight" when he saw the car at a resale lot. He felt a strong connection with the car and its parts seemed to fit perfectly.
Despite trying to move on, Nathaniel still thinks about Chase every day. He turned his bedroom into a shrine for the Chevy, with Chase's bumper becoming the headboard of his bed. Nostalgic pictures of the couple together adorn the walls and bedding.
As a way of coping with the loss, Nathaniel has expanded his car collection. He now has a Lexus ES330 named Lex, an SUV named Jet, a black sedan named Jason, a jet ski named Adam, and a luxurious sedan named Jordan. He expressed affection for each of his cars and admitted to being intimate with them.
Nathaniel said that none of his cars feel jealous of each other and he has plenty of love to go around. Despite moving on, he still feels the pain of losing his soulmate, Chase.
