Mazda has unveiled the latest facelift for the MX-5, introducing a range of improvements in terms of both aesthetics and technologies. This marks the third update for the fourth-generation ND model, which first debuted in September 2014. The previous updates included powertrain tweaks in 2018 and the introduction of Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) in 2021.

The MX-5 is still available with a folding soft top or a hardtop (RF) option. In terms of visual changes, the car now features new LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights. The rear taillights also showcase a more expressive light signature. Mazda has also introduced new wheel designs and a new Aero Grey Metallic color for customers to choose from.

One noticeable modification is on the left side of the grille, where a radar sensor has been added to support adaptive cruise control (Mazda Radar Cruise Control or MRCC) and Smart Brake Support [Rear Cross] (SBS-RC). The latter automatically applies the brakes when the car is reversing at speeds of 15 km/h or less and detects vehicles approaching from the left, right, or behind.

Inside the MX-5, the updates align with those seen in the Mazda 2 and CX-3 models. The car now features a new 8.8-inch display for the infotainment system, along with a slightly revised instrument cluster, USB-C ports, and a frameless rear-view mirror. Additionally, new upholstery options are available, including the S Leather Package V Selection variant with a tan interior and beige folding soft top.

In terms of driving-related changes, the MX-5 with a manual transmission now comes with an asymmetric limited-slip differential, which improves stability by increasing the differential limiting force during deceleration. Manual variants also gain a new mode for the dynamic stability control called DSC-Track, which reduces intervention and only activates when the driver is no longer able to control the car. Furthermore, all variants now have optimized electric power steering for a lighter and more precise steering feel.

Lastly, the 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine has received a power increase of 4 PS (4 hp or 3 kW), bringing it to 135 PS (133 hp or 99 kW) and 150 Nm of torque. The 2.0-liter NA inline-four engine remains unchanged at 184 PS (181 hp or 135 kW) and 205 Nm. Both engines are available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
