The Toyota Land Cruiser is set to undergo a radical transformation for the electric era, as showcased by a new concept car that will be unveiled at the Tokyo motor show. Known as the Land Cruiser Se, this futuristic SUV features a sleek design and three rows of seating. It will be joined by other highly anticipated debuts from Toyota, including the FT-SE sports car and FT-3E crossover.

Unlike previous generations of the Land Cruiser, which emphasized ruggedness and a traditional silhouette, this concept car takes a different approach. It prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency and incorporates design cues from Toyota's new-age design language. With its angled bonnet, rakish roofline, and sculpted sides, it presents a modern and luxurious aesthetic.

The Land Cruiser Se shares design elements with the recently revealed FT-3E SUV concept, such as creased haunches, a kinked window line, and contrasting lower trim. This suggests that the two vehicles will have similar styling, interiors, and performance capabilities. Both concepts are expected to evolve into production cars that will be part of Toyota's next-generation electric vehicle lineup.

Toyota's Tokyo motor show stand will showcase its vision for the future of electric cars, with a focus on its upcoming lineup of electric vehicles set to launch from 2026. These vehicles will feature slimmer battery packs, which will create more interior space and enable sleeker, aerodynamic designs. Despite the reduced size, the advanced lithium-ion technology will still provide a claimed range of 621 miles.
