One problem that the U.S. is facing is that voters are not convinced by their current economic model. It is quite ironic that the U.S. is trying to emulate China's economic model just as their own industrial policy is falling apart. A prime example of this is the electric-vehicle bubble, which is collapsing. This serves as a reminder that industries built by the government often fail because of the government's involvement.
