Exorcist 1000bhp farewell Chevrolet Camaro

The Hennessey Exorcist Camaro ZL1 Final Edition is a special tribute to the Chevrolet Camaro and is the fastest-accelerating car produced by the American tuner. The current combustion-engined Camaro will be retired in 2024, after being introduced in its sixth-generation form in 2016.

According to reports from the US, the replacement for the Camaro will be an electric mid-sized saloon, which is a significant departure from the traditional two-door sports coupé format that has been associated with the model line since 1966.

The Exorcist is limited to a production run of only 57 cars, symbolizing the lifespan of the Camaro. It is powered by a heavily modified 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine, delivering an impressive 1000bhp and 922 lb ft of torque.

With its incredible power, the Exorcist achieves a 0-62mph time of just 2.1 seconds, matching the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 and surpassing every other car ever produced by Hennessey, including the 250mph Venom hypercar. Its top speed is pegged at 217mph, and it can complete a quarter mile in 9.57 seconds, outperforming the Porsche 911 Turbo S and matching the Tesla Model S Plaid.

In order to achieve muscle car supremacy, the Exorcist incorporates several technical upgrades over the standard 650bhp Camaro ZL1. These include a larger supercharger, a high-pressure fuel system, a high-flow induction system, bespoke camshafts, intake valves, and exhaust valves. The suspension has also been upgraded with improved pushrods.

To signify the exclusivity of each car, the engine of the Exorcist features a plaque indicating its unique build number. Production of these limited-edition vehicles began today.
