Homophobic attack outside London nightclub: manhunt for suspect

Two men were hospitalized after being stabbed in a homophobic attack outside a gay pub. The incident occurred near the Two Brewers in Clapham, south London, on Sunday night. The victims, one in their 20s and the other in their 30s, received treatment at the hospital and have since been discharged.

The Metropolitan Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect and are treating the attack as homophobic. Detective Inspector Gary Castle assured the LGBT+ community that an urgent investigation is underway to locate the person responsible. He also mentioned the recent reinstatement of LGBT+ community liaison officers in London to support and advise on investigations involving homophobia.

The Two Brewers pub, a popular gay bar and nightclub, has increased security measures following the stabbing. They expressed their support for the police investigation and emphasized that the safety and security of their guests remain their top priority. CCTV footage from the venue has been handed over to the police.

Drag performer Mary Mac, who was present at the venue during the incident, shared her shock and disgust on Twitter. She praised the staff at The Two Brewers for their handling of the situation and ensuring the safety of those inside. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan condemned the attack as abhorrent and urged witnesses to come forward with any information.

The Mayor also expressed relief that the victims have been discharged from the hospital and extended his thoughts to them and their loved ones. Florence Eshalomi, the Labour MP for Vauxhall, described the attack as very worrying. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police or Crimestoppers to report anonymously.
