Homophobic attack outside nightclub: Two men stabbed

Police in London are investigating a homophobic attack that left two men stabbed on Clapham High Street. The incident occurred at 10:15pm on Sunday, August 13 outside the Two Brewers nightclub. According to a statement from the police, the victims, who were in their 20s and 30s, were approached by a man who attacked them with a knife before fleeing the scene. Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
In response to the attack, Detective Inspector Gary Castle of the Central South Command Unit assured the LGBT+ community that an urgent investigation is underway to find the perpetrator. He also mentioned that the police have recently appointed LGBT+ community liaison officers to support and advise on cases involving homophobia. These officers will act as a dedicated point of contact for the community.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, condemned the attack, describing it as "abhorrent" and emphasizing that there is no place for hate in the city. He expressed solidarity with LGBTQ+ Londoners and pledged to work towards ending homophobic, biphobic, and transphobic hate crimes.
