Honda has recently launched its redesigned N-Box minivehicle, also known as a Kei car, in Japan. Last year, the outgoing N-Box was the best-selling vehicle model in the country, surpassing the Toyota Yaris in terms of sales. The third generation N-Box boasts a more refined exterior design and a more spacious and comfortable cabin. Additionally, Honda has improved the drivability of the vehicle by providing a more uncluttered field of vision.
One notable feature of the new N-Box is the inclusion of Honda Connect, a communication system that offers new generation connected technology. This marks the first time that Honda has equipped one of its minivehicle models with this advanced system. Furthermore, the N-Box comes with Honda Sensing advanced safety and driver assist technology as standard, along with two additional features: Low Speed Brake Function and Unintended Acceleration Mitigation.
The N-Box is available with two engine options: a naturally aspirated VTEC unit with intake valve control, and a turbocharged engine with an electric wastegate that allows for fine adjustment of exhaust pressure. Honda has meticulously refined these engines to achieve high-quality and easy-to-handle characteristics.
When it comes to competition, the N-Box goes head-to-head with other popular minivehicles in Japan, such as the Daihatsu Tanto and Move, Suzuki Specia and Wagon R, Mitsubishi i-Miev, and Nissan Roox.
