Bentley Mulsanne returns to Crewe

A unique and significant Bentley Mulsanne is making headlines as the final one ever made. What sets this particular model apart is that it was handbuilt at Crewe and served as transportation for Queen Elizabeth II during her time on the throne. Now retired from Royal duties, the car will join Bentley's prestigious 45-car heritage fleet.

It's no secret that the late Queen had a fondness for Bentley cars. In fact, a previous Mulsanne owned by Her Majesty was even listed for sale a couple of years ago. The new Mulsanne follows a similar color combination to its predecessor, featuring a solid Barnato Green exterior with chrome accents, and an interior adorned in Twine and Cumbrian Green, complemented by Burr Walnut veneers. It also boasts an Extended Wheelbase for added comfort and luxury.

However, this Mulsanne is not your average dark green model. It underwent modifications to fulfill its special duties, including the removal of the front center armrest to make room for a tray to carry the Queen's handbag. Additionally, it features rear privacy curtains and the UK's coat of arms inlaid in the door waistrails. The car is also equipped with lights, sirens, and a bullhorn, with the switches cleverly hidden behind a walnut-veneered door.

Once retired, the final Mulsanne will take its place in Bentley's Heritage Collection, alongside the second-ever built Mulsanne and a later Speed model. Enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience this extraordinary vehicle firsthand. While there are currently no Mulsannes for sale with a similar specification, there are still plenty of options available for those interested in owning a Bentley. Whether it's a Speed model for the price of an M2 or an Extended Wheelbase for maximum opulence, there is something to suit every taste and preference.
