JLTV production extended beyond mid-2025

Oshkosh Defense has secured a substantial order worth US$208 million for Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), trailers, and associated kits from the US Army, USMC, and USAF. This order reaffirms Oshkosh's position as a trusted supplier to the US military.
In March 2023, it was announced that AM General had won the recompete contract for manufacturing JLTVs, with deliveries expected to begin in late 2024. However, Oshkosh has expressed its intention to continue manufacturing JLTVs if possible, despite losing the contract.
Oshkosh Defense emphasized its commitment to the JLTV program, stating that it has already received orders or commitments from eight international customers. The company plans to make the Oshkosh JLTV available through Direct Commercial Sales and intends to produce JLTVs until the first quarter of FY2025.
George Mansfield, the VP and general manager of defense programs at Oshkosh Defense, highlighted the company's dedication to continuous improvement and expertise in designing and producing reliable light tactical vehicles. Mansfield's remarks underscore the company's confidence in its capabilities and commitment to meeting the needs of its customers.
Oshkosh Defense has been at the forefront of innovation in the JLTV program. In January 2022, the company unveiled a hybrid-electric drive version of the JLTV called the eJLTV. This development showcases Oshkosh's commitment to incorporating advanced technologies into its vehicles. Furthermore, in October 2022, Oshkosh displayed an improved version of the JLTV featuring a Kongsberg Remote Weapon Station (RWS) and a side-mounted Javelin launcher. These enhancements highlight Oshkosh's continuous efforts to enhance the performance and capabilities of the JLTV.
