The Kia EV5 was first previewed a couple of months ago with a concept, and now it is set to make its official debut later this month. However, it seems that the EV5 has been revealed a bit earlier than planned. The photo of the EV5, obtained from Car News China, shows that it closely resembles the concept version. It features actual door handles, the same wheel design (albeit smaller), real door mirrors, and slightly different lights. Overall, the design remains largely unchanged.
In terms of size, the EV5 is very similar to the Sportage and is built on Kia's E-GMP Platform. It is equipped with a single electric motor at the front, delivering 215bhp and 229lb/ft of torque. The battery pack is expected to be an 82kWh BYD 'Blade' Lithium iron phosphate (LFE) battery pack. Additionally, an AWD model with an extra motor on the back is expected to be released in the future.
