Nissan Stagea 260RS Autech GT-R Wagon Sidekick U.S.
【Summary】The Nissan Stagea 260RS Autech, a rare GT-R wagon, is being auctioned in the US. Though never officially sold in the US, it is now allowed due to its age. This model shares the same drivetrain as the GT-R, including the RB26DETT engine and all-wheel drive. It features special additions such as Brembo brakes, a unique body kit, and a strut tower brace. Only 1,734 of these were made, and the current auction price is $22,472, expected to go higher.
Fast wagons are a unique breed of vehicles that offer a blend of practicality and performance. One such example is the Nissan Stagea 260RS Autech, which is currently going up for auction in California with a US title.
What makes this particularly interesting is that the Stagea was never officially sold in the United States. However, due to its age of over 25 years, it is now eligible to be imported. Instead of going through the hassle of finding and importing one yourself, someone has already done the work for you, allowing you to benefit from their efforts. The only adjustment you'll need to make is getting used to the steering wheel being on the opposite side.
The Stagea model is essentially a wagon version of the Nissan Skyline, which was sold until 2007. While the Skyline is often associated with the high-performance GT-R, there were also less powerful variants available, including sedans and wagons like the Stagea. However, the 260RS Autech stands out for several reasons that directly link it to the GT-R.
Most notably, the 260RS Autech shares the same drivetrain as the GT-R, featuring the RB26DETT engine, a manual transmission, and all-wheel drive. While the engine is factory-rated at 276 hp, it is believed to produce even more power. This particular version of the Stagea is the only one equipped with this powerful engine and drivetrain, and it also boasts other special features.
The brakes are larger and equipped with Brembo calipers. The body kit is unique to this version and remains intact on this car. Under the hood, a strut tower brace enhances chassis rigidity. Special 17-inch Stagea wheels adorn each corner of the vehicle, and it still retains the iconic rear wing.
Only around 1,734 of these Stagea 260RS Autech models were produced, and now one of them can be yours. The car is currently up for auction on Cars & Bids, with the bidding already reaching $22,472 at the time of writing. It is expected to fetch a considerably higher price as the auction progresses.
