German manufacturer and Porsche tuning specialist Ruf has introduced its most powerful car to date, the CTR 3 Evo. This impressive vehicle was revealed at Monterey Car Week and represents a complete redesign and significant upgrade from the Porsche Cayman-based CTR 3 Clubsport.
The CTR 3 Evo is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat six engine, generating an impressive 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. This surpasses the power output of the Clubsport by 23bhp and 8lb ft. The maximum power is achieved at 7100rpm, while the maximum torque is deployed at 4000rpm.
The car showcased in the images features Ruf's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, as the Clubsport can also be equipped with a six-speed manual, the Evo may also offer this option.
Similar to the Koenigsegg Agera RS, the body of the CTR 3 Evo is constructed using a Kevlar-composite material known for its lightweight properties, strength, and heat resistance.
Although the top speed and 0-62mph time have not yet been disclosed, the Evo is expected to outperform the Clubsport, which can reach speeds of up to 236mph and achieve 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.
Aside from engine enhancements, the CTR 3 Evo features modifications to the MacPherson-strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. It is also equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and a track-ready dry-sump lubrication system, similar to those found in the Ferrari 488 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
Inside the CTR 3 Evo, occupants will find one-piece body-hugging sports seats made from carbon fiber and upholstered in Alcantara with contrasting yellow stitching.
Interested customers can order the CTR 3 Evo at a price exceeding $725,000 (£570,466). This makes it more expensive than the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 and the equally powerful Ferrari SF90, both of which occupy a similar market position.
