Swedish EV manufacturers target intelligent driving in Chinese market.

In recent years, there has been a growing focus among Swedish electric vehicle makers on China's premium EV car market. Similarly, Chinese automobile makers like Hongqi have chosen Sweden, Norway, and other Northern European countries as their first destinations to establish R&D facilities and promote new electric vehicle branding in European markets.

At the 26th edition of the Chengdu Motor Show, Swedish premium electric vehicle maker Polestar announced a partnership with Mobileye. This collaboration aims to incorporate Mobileye's Chauffeur autonomous driving technology into the Polestar 4.

The Chengdu Motor Show, which took place on August 25, 2023, is the largest annual auto show in western China. It provided the perfect platform for Polestar to showcase its latest offerings, including the Polestar 4, a pure electric high-performance SUV, and the Polestar 3, an ultra-luxury pure electric SUV.

The Polestar 4 is particularly noteworthy as it is the first production car to feature Mobileye's Chauffeur autonomous driving technology. This technology, based on Mobileye SuperVision-based ADAS, sets the foundation for future advancements in autonomous driving.

Polestar proudly displayed its Polestar 4 at the Chengdu Motor Show, further solidifying its position as a leading Swedish electric performance car maker.

Mobileye, a renowned producer of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology, has already equipped over 150 million cars worldwide with its systems. Their upcoming Chauffeur technology is expected to revolutionize autonomous driving, offering hands-free, point-to-point capabilities on highways and eyes-on automated driving in various environments.
