Tesla has been increasing its testing of the upcoming steel-bodied Cybertruck over the past two months. Some of this testing is taking place in New Zealand, which is a popular winter testing location.

Recently, there have been sightings of up to five Cybertrucks at the test site, indicating that the testing efforts have intensified. Previously, only two Cybertrucks with unique camouflage wraps were spotted.

These sightings were made possible by pictures shared on Twitter by a Cybertruck enthusiast in New Zealand. One of the pictures shows three Cybertrucks parked next to a shed, with the tailgate of the far-right Cybertruck labeled as "Cybr-ute."

In other pictures, the camouflaged test units were also seen, bringing the total count to at least five units on site. These units also featured the triangular rear side mirrors that are expected in the production version of the Cybertruck.

Fans of the Cybertruck found the increase in the number of vehicles amusing, with one person commenting, "They've been sneaking them in."

To provide some context, the first Tesla Cybertruck with a large frunk opening was spotted at the winter test site in June. This unit was delivered to the site in a covered trailer.

New photos were also shared, showing the frunk of a Cybertruck being opened and revealing some of its internals. Although the specific components are unclear, it is evident that the frunk extends for a significant part of the truck's width.

The size of the Cybertruck makes the nearby vehicles appear much smaller in comparison.

The winter testing for Tesla vehicles takes place at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG) in the South Island of New Zealand. This testing is timely, as the truck is expected to enter production later this quarter.

With the first customer delivery event for the Cybertruck just weeks away, the significant number of vehicles undergoing winter testing demonstrates Tesla's commitment to ensuring the vehicle performs well in all terrains.

This will give confidence to the hundreds of thousands of reservation holders who are eagerly awaiting the Cybertruck's release and plan to put it to the test in the years to come.
