Toyota Hints at Electric FJ Cruiser Replacement
【Summary】Toyota may have teased an electric SUV that could be a successor to the FJ Cruiser. The new SUV appears to be larger than the original concept and may rival the upcoming Rivian R2. There is speculation that the teased vehicle could be the bZ5X, a three-row electric SUV. However, more information is needed from Toyota to confirm the details.
Contrary to popular belief, the car shown in the image is not the Compact Cruiser concept. Although it had an impressive design, the original concept was actually much smaller and intended to compete in the compact SUV market. However, this new SUV seems to be about 20% to 30% larger, potentially positioning it as a rival to the upcoming Rivian R2.
Turning our attention to the other vehicle concealed in the shadows, it bears a striking resemblance to the bZ5X, a three-row electric SUV. Toyota has previously announced plans to produce a new three-row electric SUV in the United States, and the image suggests that the teased vehicle is long enough to accommodate that. The only factor that contradicts the theory that this is the US-bound bZ5X is that the vehicle was teased during the international presentation rather than the American one. Additionally, the area behind the C-pillar does not align with the original concept. We will have to wait for more information from Toyota, but it is likely that we won't have to wait for very long.
