Dacia's Black Friday website closure
【Summary】Dacia, the budget-conscious car brand, has decided to shut down its website and online sales for Black Friday, instead of offering discounted deals. The company's move is seen as a bold statement against the marketing gimmick of Black Friday. Dacia believes that 70% of Brits view Black Friday as a marketing ploy. The website will be back up on Saturday.
Dacia, known for its playful jabs at the automotive industry, is once again taking a dig, this time at Black Friday. Despite being a budget-conscious brand, Dacia has decided to shut down its online sales and car configurator on Black Friday, instead of offering discounted deals.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, explained the decision, stating, "At Dacia, Black Friday is just a normal Friday. Shutting down our online sales for the day is a bold move, but it demonstrates our commitment to being the UK's number one car manufacturer for value."
Interestingly, it seems that Dacia is not alone in its skepticism towards Black Friday. According to the company, 70% of Brits believe that Black Friday is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. To help consumers "tune out of the Black Friday noise," Dacia will even release a radio advert featuring relaxing sounds.
The Dacia online sales and configurator site will resume operations on Saturday, November 25th. However, customers who were hoping to purchase a car from Dacia on Black Friday may interpret the brand's decision as a way of combatting the Black Friday marketing gimmick with one of its own.
