Toyota unveiled two new concept electric vehicles (EVs) at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China. These EVs, named Comfortable Space and Enjoyable Space, are being developed as part of a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group Co (GAC) and Toyota. It is expected that these EVs will be exclusively available in China.
According to a user on X (formerly Twitter) named @TychodeFeijter, the Toyota Comfortable Space is an electric sedan that bears some resemblance to the bZ Sport Crossover concept. The vehicle measures approximately 5 meters in length with a wheelbase of around 3 meters. It features a sleek LED light bar at the front and a coupe-like sloping roofline. Notable exterior elements include camera-based wing mirrors, frameless doors, pop-out door handles, and 21-inch wheels. However, specific details regarding the drive train and pricing were not disclosed.
In contrast, the Toyota Enjoyable Space SUV is slightly shorter, measuring about 4.8 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2.9 meters. This SUV, inspired by the bZ FlexSpace concept, also incorporates pop-out door handles but retains traditional wing mirrors. It is anticipated that the EV will be offered with either a single or dual motor configuration, with an estimated starting price of approximately 250,000 yuan (equivalent to around US$35,220). The exact release date for the production versions of the Toyota Enjoyable Space and Comfortable Space EVs remains uncertain, although rumors suggest they may become available within the next two years.
