Dacia closes website for Black Friday
【Summary】Dacia, known for its budget-conscious approach, is shutting down its website and online sales on Black Friday. The company aims to show its commitment to being the UK's top value car manufacturer. Dacia's decision reflects the skepticism many Brits have towards Black Friday as a marketing gimmick. The website will resume operations on Saturday.
Dacia, known for its playful jabs at the automotive industry, is once again taking aim - this time at Black Friday. Instead of capitalizing on the shopping frenzy with discounted deals, the budget-conscious brand has announced that it will be shutting down its online sales and car configurator for the day.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, explained the decision, saying, "At Dacia, Black Friday is just a normal Friday. Shutting down our online sales for the day is a bold move, but it demonstrates our commitment to being the UK's number one car manufacturer for value."
Interestingly, it seems that Dacia's skepticism towards Black Friday is shared by many in the UK. According to the company, 70 percent of Brits believe that Black Friday is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. In an effort to help consumers "tune out of the Black Friday noise," Dacia will even release a radio advert featuring relaxing sounds.
For those eager to purchase a car from Dacia on Black Friday, the brand's online sales and configurator site will be back up and running on Saturday, November 25th. This move could be seen as Dacia's way of combatting the Black Friday marketing gimmick with one of its own.
