Less than two months after the initial announcement, Chancellor Rishi Sunak has revealed that the UK government will not implement a ban on petrol- and diesel-powered new cars by 2030. Instead, the deadline has been extended to 2035, aligning the UK with Europe's plan to require zero tailpipe emissions for new vehicles from that same year.
