Ford Motor Co.'s F-150 Lightning, like other electric vehicles being developed in Detroit, has received praise for its contribution to addressing climate change. However, it requires more energy to recharge compared to smaller vehicles.

In the U.K., the Kia Sportage is the most searched used car, with over 33,970 searches on Google per year. This high demand highlights the popularity of this South Korean SUV. The Nissan Qashqai and Ford Fiesta come in second and third place, respectively.

The assessment aimed to identify the most popular used car models in the U.K. It focused on 29 popular car brands based on the frequency of currently registered vehicles. The top five most searched-for models for each brand were considered, resulting in a total of 145 car models. Yearly Google search data for each model was collected and ranked.

Ford emerges as the most searched-for car brand, followed by Audi and BMW. This conclusion comes from a review conducted by car finance refund firm Undisclosed.co.uk. They evaluated the number of yearly searches for 145 models of used cars across 29 brands to determine the most searched-for brand.

The Sportage, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is also the most Googled used car in 38 out of 58 UK cities analyzed. This includes cities such as Birmingham, Glasgow, and Liverpool.

The Nissan Qashqai takes second place with 29,230 searches for 'used Nissan Qashqai' each year across the UK. This Japanese car is the most searched-for used car in eight cities, including Leicester, Newcastle, and Portsmouth. The newest Qashqai model in Europe features Nissan's e-POWER technology, appealing to those who want to reduce their emissions.

In third place is the Ford Fiesta, with approximately 28,380 searches each year for the term "used Ford Fiesta." Despite production of this model ceasing in July after 47 years and eight generations, it remains a popular choice in the used car market, likely due to its reliability.

According to data from the U.K. government, the Fiesta was the most registered car on UK roads as of Q4 2022. Securing the fourth spot is the BMW 1 Series, which draws in around 23,640 yearly searches. This German car model, part of the BMW group, appears in the top five used car searches for Derby, Southampton, and Manchester.

The Audi A1 takes fifth place with approximately 22,870 yearly searches for "used Audi A1." The German car company's reputation for quality, combined with the A1's compact yet premium appeal, has made it a favorite among UK drivers.

In seventh place is the Ford Focus, with 21,110 yearly searches. The Audi A3 takes eighth place, attracting approximately 20,630 searches per year, while the VW Golf secures the ninth spot with 19,490 searches annually.
