In the United States, a postal code is known as a ZIP code, which stands for Zone Improvement Plan. ZIP codes are five-digit numbers and help to identify specific geographic areas within the country. In Canada, postal codes are known as Canadian Postal Codes and consist of a combination of letters and numbers.
