Volkswagen California concept to be released in 2024
【Summary】Volkswagen has introduced the concept for the new California camper van, which will be available in showrooms by 2024. The updated version will be based on the car-derived architecture used in the Volkswagen Golf and Tiguan, rather than the traditional van chassis. The Transporter van will be redesigned and partnered with the Ford Transit Custom for its next generation.
In a recent development, it has been revealed that the 'T7' Multivan and California have undergone a significant change. Instead of being based on the load-carrying chassis of the Transporter van, these vehicles are now built on the car-derived architecture shared with the Volkswagen Golf hatch and Tiguan SUV. This change is expected to bring about several improvements in terms of performance and design.
Furthermore, it has been announced that the next generation of the Transporter van, set to be released in 2024, will be twinned with the Ford Transit Custom. This partnership is anticipated to enhance the capabilities and features of the Transporter, making it even more suitable for commercial use.
