2024 Ford F-150 reveals fresh Blue Oval logo

The 2024 Ford F-150 has been spotted in recent spy shots, revealing some changes to the front fascia, including a revised Blue Oval emblem. The production version of the new badge was unveiled at the debut of the 2024 F-150 in Detroit. A senior Ford designer confirmed that the Blue Oval has indeed been updated. The comparison image above shows the old badge on the left, taken from a 2023 F-150 for sale at a dealership, and the new badge on the right, which appears on the 2024 F-150 STX trim in Ford's press materials. While we can't be certain about the color differences due to the different sources of the badges, a few things are clear.

The new badge features a less contoured design, with a flatter face. Instead of the double outlined oval with a thick outer ring and a thin inner ring, there is now a single contour line just inside the edge. The Ford script has also been enlarged to fill the extra room on the emblem, and it appears flatter as well. Additionally, the logo is now done in blue and white, departing from the previous blue and chrome color scheme.

A closer look at the history of the Blue Oval badge reveals that the new design is a remix of previous versions. It closely resembles the badge Ford introduced in 1965 and used until 1976. The 1965 version can be traced back to the badge introduced in 1927, which had a less pronounced oval shape. The 1976 variant has been in use until now, with official revisions made in 2003 and 2017, but the basic design has remained the same.

It is expected that the updated Blue Oval badge will be rolled out across the entire Ford lineup as new and facelifted models are introduced. In fact, spy shots of a refreshed European-market Ford Kuga prototype, which is the equivalent of the Ford Escape, show it wearing the same updated badge as the 2024 F-150.
