The Hyundai Palisade has been a popular choice for customers looking for a three-row SUV with minivan practicality and an improved ride height. However, Hyundai has now introduced the all-new Santa Fe, which offers a more rugged and adventurous option for those who want to explore remote places. Despite being slightly smaller than the Palisade, the redesigned Santa Fe has a refreshed design that positions it as a genuine rival to luxury SUVs with attractive starting prices. If Hyundai can offer a reasonable price and reliable powertrains, the 2024 Santa Fe could be a massive success.

The 2024 Santa Fe is set to arrive in North America and Europe in 2024, with South Koreans able to order the first batch in September of this year. As we await pricing and drivetrain information for North America, it's worth noting that the European version of the SUV will have a different appearance. The front design of the Santa Fe in Europe will not include the bold and distinctive LED light bar found in other markets.

The "H" design of the Santa Fe is a standout feature, with the headlights and front bumper forming the shape of an "H" that gives the SUV a unique road presence. However, Hyundai made the decision to integrate the daytime-running lights (DRLs) into a horizontal LED bar, following current design trends. Unfortunately, the light bar did not perform well in safety tests conducted by Euro NCAP, leading Hyundai to remove it for the European version of the Santa Fe.

Despite the absence of the light bar, the European Santa Fe will still maintain its masculine and rugged appearance, along with interior practicality and new features. The SUV will feature the H-shaped DRLs and an imposing body, ensuring it stands out on European roads. The slim light bar has become a distinguishing feature for some electric vehicles, but for now, the Santa Fe will offer a plug-in hybrid version in most markets. American and Canadian customers can look forward to a slightly enhanced appearance for the 2024 Santa Fe.

European safety testing procedures have recently been updated, making it more challenging for automakers to achieve a five-star rating. Additional requirements include child presence detection systems, easy opening of electronically-operated windows and doors in case of submergence, and advanced autonomous emergency braking (AEB) systems that protect motorcyclists, pedestrians, and cyclists. While the Santa Fe will not have the light bar in Europe, it will still prioritize safety with these updated features.
