2024 Skoda Kodiaq PHEV gets a complete interior makeover

The next-generation Skoda Kodiaq's interior has been showcased by the Czech automaker, and it is evident from new images that the vehicle will retain physical dial controls for essential functions. Positioned between the centre console and the dashboard, these three dials can be customized to adjust various functions. One of the official images demonstrates the system's ability to manage climate settings for the front occupants on each respective side, with stereo volume control in between.

The dials located on either side of the front occupants have the capability to control the cabin temperature, seat heating or ventilation, based on user preference. On the other hand, the central controller can modify fan speed, air direction, volume of the sound system, selected driving mode, or zoom level of the sat-nav map.

Additionally, the new images reveal that the Kodiaq will come equipped with a large 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument display. In a move to free up more legroom for the front occupants, the automatic gear selector has been relocated from the centre console to a stalk on the steering wheel.

The design of the new Kodiaq places a strong emphasis on connectivity. USB-C ports are featured on the rear-view mirror and centre console, and they also integrate a 15W wireless phone-charging box.

The Skoda Kodiaq has proven to be a successful model for the Czech brand, with the first-generation being followed by the highly acclaimed Skoda Karoq and Kamiq. Now, Skoda is returning to where it all began, and a new Kodiaq is set to be released in the first quarter of 2024.

Similar to its predecessors, the second-generation Kodiaq will share components with other Volkswagen Group models, including the new VW Tiguan. Pricing, trim levels, and equipment details will be confirmed later this year, but customers can expect a standard Kodiaq version as well as a sportier-looking SportLine variant. Most versions of the Kodiaq will offer seven seats, and a hotter Skoda Kodiaq vRS version is anticipated to join the lineup approximately a year later.
