Dacia closes website for Black Friday
【Summary】Dacia, known for its budget-friendly cars, will shut down its online sales and car configurator on Black Friday, instead of offering discounted deals. The move is in line with Dacia's commitment to being the UK's top car manufacturer for value. The company believes that 70% of Brits consider Black Friday a marketing gimmick. Dacia will also release a radio advert featuring relaxing sounds to help consumers avoid the Black Friday hype.
Dacia, the Romanian automotive company known for its playful jabs at the industry, is once again making waves - this time with its approach to Black Friday. While one might expect the budget-friendly brand to offer discounted deals, Dacia has announced that it will actually be shutting down its online sales and car configurator for the day.
Luke Broad, the Dacia Brand Director for the UK, explained, "At Dacia, Black Friday is just a normal Friday. Shutting down our online sales for the day is a bold move, but it demonstrates our commitment to being the UK's leading car manufacturer for value."
Interestingly, Dacia's decision seems to align with the sentiments of the UK population. According to the company, 70% of Brits view Black Friday as nothing more than a marketing gimmick. In an effort to help consumers "tune out of the Black Friday noise," Dacia will even release a radio advert featuring relaxing sounds.
For those who are still interested in purchasing a Dacia vehicle on Black Friday, the online sales and configurator site will be back up and running on Saturday, November 25th. It's possible that some customers may interpret Dacia's move as a way of combatting the Black Friday marketing gimmick with one of its own.
