New Hyundai Tucson Revives Interior Buttons

Hyundai Europe has unveiled the facelifted 2025 Tucson, showcasing slight exterior modifications and a new interior design that aligns with Hyundai's latest models. While specific specifications have not been disclosed, the release includes the first images and a few additional details.

The most notable updates can be observed in the interior, where Hyundai has replaced the primarily touch-sensitive buttons with a new corporate layout. This layout features physical volume and tuning knobs, as well as real buttons for climate controls and other functions. The previous model's separate gauge cluster and central displays have been replaced by a single sweeping display on the dashboard, combining the digital gauge display and infotainment screen.

The released images also reveal that Hyundai will be abandoning the automatic transmission's push-button operation in favor of a Bop-It-style shifter mounted on the steering column, similar to the newly redesigned Kona. The 2025 Tucson will also feature Hyundai's three-spoke steering wheel, which replaces the brand's H logo with a four-dot, Morse Code H, providing a modernized interior vibe.

The fourth-generation Tucson, introduced in 2020, boasted distinctive exterior styling details such as integrated lights in the grille and sharply creased bodywork, setting it apart from other compact crossover vehicles. The facelifted model, on the other hand, presents minor exterior tweaks that enhance the Tucson's attractive features, giving it a refreshed appearance.

These tweaks include a reduction in the number of lighting elements in the DRL clusters from 10 to 8, along with some other adjustments to streamline the front styling. The front grille and bumper now have chunkier designs, and new wheels have been added. Although there are no direct photos of the rear, the side view suggests that it remains largely unchanged from the current model.

The fourth-generation Tucson has always been a well-received crossover, and the redesigned 2025 model is expected to be even more appealing due to Hyundai's styling updates and the decision to reintroduce physical buttons. Further updates regarding the U.S. market and powertrain specifics will be provided as they become available. The refreshed model is scheduled to be released in Europe early next year, with no information regarding its release in the U.S. mentioned at this time.
