【Summary】Toyota has announced the pricing and specifications for the new 2024 C-HR crossover in the UK. The range starts at £31,290 for the base Icon trim, which includes 17in alloy wheels and 7.0in infotainment screen. Higher trim levels such as Design and Excel offer additional features like 18in and 19in alloys, a larger touchscreen, and a JBL sound system. The C-HR is available with a 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain, promising fuel efficiency of 56.5-58.9mpg.
Toyota has unveiled the pricing, equipment, and engine specifications for the second-generation C-HR crossover. The new C-HR aims to attract new customers to the brand and comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, a first for the model.
The range starts with the Icon trim, priced at £31,290. It features 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, a 7.0-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, and a range of safety systems. The Design trim, priced at an additional £3,395, adds 18-inch alloys, a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof. The Excel trim, costing £38,150, includes 19-inch alloys, a JBL sound system, and front sports seats.
The Icon, Design, and Excel trims are available with the 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain, which combines a 97bhp petrol engine with a 94bhp electric motor, delivering a total of 138bhp. This powertrain is also shared with the new Toyota Prius.
The 1.8 hybrid sends power to the front wheels and promises a fuel efficiency of 56.5-58.9mpg on the WLTP cycle. According to product manager Andrea Carlucci, this entry-level powertrain is crucial for maintaining the model's accessibility.
The higher trim levels, GR Sport and Premiere Edition, start at £40,645 and £42,720 respectively. The C-HR is slightly pricier than the equivalent Nissan Qashqai but cheaper than the equivalent Toyota RAV4 PHEV.
The production car adopts the radical design of the C-HR Prologue concept, featuring the new 'hammerhead' front-end design seen on the latest Toyota Prius. It is the first SUV in Toyota's European lineup to showcase this design. Higher-grade trims offer 19-inch and 20-inch alloys, as well as two-tone paintwork to further enhance the car's aesthetics.
