2025 Cadillac CT5 Receives Sleek Redesign, Lyriq's Impressive Display

The Cadillac CT5, which has been available for sale since 2019, is receiving a refresh for the 2025 model year. Despite slow sedan sales in the US, Cadillac has decided to give the CT5 a new front fascia, revised interior, and other solid changes. While there is no news yet on how these alterations will apply to the CT5-V Blackwing, Cadillac has promised more information in the future.

One of the most noticeable changes to the CT5 is its front end. The grille has been enlarged and the headlights are new. The Sport model also receives its own unique aesthetic modifications. The rear end, on the other hand, has remained mostly untouched, with only some lighting changes in the taillights. Additionally, the CT5 now offers two new colors: Deep Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic, adding to its visual appeal.

Inside the CT5, the small infotainment display in the center console has been replaced with a larger 33-inch curved display, similar to what is found in the Lyriq and Escalade models. This massive screen combines the instrument cluster and infotainment functions into one. The instrument panel below the screen remains mostly unchanged, and there are no new interior color options.

In terms of technology, the CT5 now features enhanced lane-keep assist in addition to the available Super Cruise system. Previously, losing access to Super Cruise also meant losing access to other driver aids, but now there is a softer step down. The car will still center itself in its lane as long as the driver keeps their hands on the wheel. Furthermore, the CT5 integrates Google's suite of apps, including Maps, the Play Store, and Google Assistant. Amazon Alexa is also built-in, and there is an optional 5G hotspot.

Under the hood, the CT5 retains its existing drivetrains. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 237 horsepower, while the larger 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 is still available, delivering 335 horsepower. Both options can be equipped with all-wheel drive, with rear-wheel drive being the standard.

More significant changes are expected when the CT5-V Blackwing receives its update in the near future. Although no exact date has been provided by Cadillac, it is likely that the car will undergo this facelift. There is also speculation about potential mechanical changes. Production of the updated CT5 is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2024, with cars arriving at dealers shortly after.
