2025 MINI John Cooper Works EV: Potential 250 HP
【Summary】The 2025 MINI John Cooper Works EV has been spied, featuring a more aggressive design and unique rear end. It will likely have around 250 horsepower, using the same battery pack as the Cooper SE but with an upgraded motor. The interior will have a minimalist design with a circular display and new voice assistant.
The electric MINI Cooper JCW has been spotted, showcasing a more aggressive front bumper and a unique rear end. MINI is fully embracing an electric future, even for their performance-oriented John Cooper Works sub-brand.
The JCW variant stands out with its new front bumper, featuring a sportier intake design with a split design and a horizontal bar. Moving towards the back, the car boasts chunky side skirts, flush-mounted door handles, a sloping roof, and turning fork style wheels with a two-tone design.
With exhaust tips no longer relevant in the electric era, MINI has opted for a more aggressive rear bumper and a lightly revised diffuser with vertical accents to distinguish the high-performance variant. Additionally, the car showcases a revised spoiler and taller reflectors.
Although spy photographers didn't capture the interior, MINI recently revealed the cabin of the standard model. The interior boasts a minimalist design, dominated by a circular display measuring 9.4 inches (240 mm) in diameter. Running on the Android-based MINI Operating System 9, the display combines the features of a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system. It also offers extensive customization options and introduces a new voice assistant that can be represented by a dog avatar.
MINI has already confirmed that the Cooper E will come with a 40.7 kWh battery pack and an electric motor developing 181 hp (135 kW / 184 PS). The Cooper SE will surpass these figures with a larger 54.2 kWh battery and a more powerful motor developing 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). While details about the upcoming JCW variant remain undisclosed, it is rumored to use the Cooper SE's battery pack along with an upgraded motor producing around 247 hp (184 kW / 250 PS).
