Bentley Mulsanne returns to Crewe
【Summary】The last Bentley Mulsanne ever made, which was used by Queen Elizabeth II, is heading back to its birthplace in Crewe. It will join Bentley's heritage fleet of 45 cars. The car features special modifications for the Queen, including a tray for her handbag, rear privacy curtains, and the UK's coat of arms. Although there are no Mulsannes currently for sale with similar specifications, there are other models available for purchase.
A remarkable Bentley Mulsanne has caught the attention of car enthusiasts worldwide. This particular vehicle holds immense significance, as it is not only the final Mulsanne ever produced but also served as the transportation for Queen Elizabeth II. Now retired from her Royal duties, the Bentley will join the prestigious 45-car heritage fleet of the company.
It is worth noting that the late Queen had a strong affinity for Bentley cars. Some may recall another one of Her Majesty's Mulsannes being put up for sale on a popular car platform a few years ago. The latest Mulsanne being discussed today features a similar color combination to its predecessor, as there was no need to deviate from an already excellent specification. Its exterior is adorned in solid Barnato Green with chrome accents, while the interior boasts Twine and Cumbrian Green upholstery, complemented by Burr Walnut veneers. Additionally, the car has an Extended Wheelbase, adding to its grandeur.
However, this Mulsanne is far from ordinary, especially considering its unique modifications for its royal duty. These alterations include the removal of the front center armrest to make space for a tray to hold the Queen's handbag, rear privacy curtains, and the UK's coat of arms intricately inlaid in the door waistrails. Furthermore, the car is equipped with lights, sirens, and a bullhorn, with the controls discreetly hidden behind a walnut-veneered door near the gearlever.
Once retired, this final Mulsanne will find its place among Bentley's esteemed Heritage Collection, alongside the second-ever built Mulsanne and a later Speed model. Car enthusiasts eagerly await the opportunity to experience this extraordinary vehicle firsthand. Unfortunately, there are currently no Mulsannes available for sale with a similar specification, although there are undoubtedly several intriguing options on the market, considering that over 7,000 Mulsannes were manufactured. Interested buyers can explore purchasing a Speed model for the price of an M2 or indulge in the ultimate opulence of an Extended Wheelbase, albeit at a higher cost.
