The BYD Seal is a sleek and stylish car that aims to compete with the likes of the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 6. It offers impressive performance and range, as well as attractive design both inside and out. The dual-motor version is particularly quick. While the Atto 3 and Dolphin are also competitive offerings from BYD, the Seal could be their best car yet.

The Seal is a departure from the trend of SUVs, offering a conventional, low-slung saloon design. It prioritizes range, performance, and style over large luggage space or a commanding driving position. It can be compared to other electric cars like the Hyundai Ioniq 6, Tesla Model 3, and Porsche Taycan.

The Seal boasts a range of up to 354 miles with its 83kWh battery pack. It features low drag and a heat pump to help preserve range, even in cold weather. Charging is fast with 150kW capabilities, allowing for a 30-80% charge in just 26 minutes. The Design model comes well-equipped with features like a rotating infotainment screen, driver display, audio system, heated and cooled front seats, and "vehicle to load" capability.

Pricing for the BYD Seal has not been confirmed yet, but it is expected to be around £44,000 for the Design model. This puts it in direct competition with the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 6. The dual-motor version will likely be slightly more expensive. Overall, the Seal offers a unique mix of qualities and is a compelling option in the electric car market.

The BYD Seal offers good cabin and boot space, thanks to its clever battery placement. The roofline is lower and more stylish without compromising headroom, and the long wheelbase provides ample legroom. However, the lack of a hatchback may limit practicality.
