Compact 2025 Optiq Electric SUV Confirmed by Cadillac
【Summary】Cadillac has confirmed the development of the Optiq, a compact electric SUV set to be released in 2025. The vehicle will join Cadillac's lineup below the Lyriq and Escalade IQ, featuring a design similar to the larger Lyriq. It is expected to have a range of around 300 miles and offer fast-charging capabilities. Pricing and specific release details have not been provided, but it is anticipated to start in the low to mid-$50,000 range.
GM's investment in electrification is paying off for Cadillac, as the automaker has announced the development of another electric vehicle (EV) set to launch in 2025. Known as the Optiq, this compact electric SUV will join Cadillac's lineup, positioned below the Lyriq and flagship Escalade IQ.
While Cadillac has not provided many details about the Optiq, they did release an image of the upcoming EV. The design features the brand's signature vertical LED running lights and a muscular shape reminiscent of the larger Lyriq. The C- and D-pillars have a blacked-out style, giving the roof a floating appearance.
Thanks to General Motors' Ultium technology, Cadillac has been able to create a diverse range of EVs. The Optiq is expected to be similar in size and shape to the recently released Equinox EV, sharing the same underlying technologies as the Lyriq, Escalade IQ, and Celestiq EVs. It is likely to have a range estimate of around 300 miles and will offer fast-charging capabilities.
Although Cadillac has not revealed pricing or a specific release date for the Optiq, they have stated that it will serve as a new entry point to their electric vehicle lineup. Considering the base price of the Lyriq Tech trim starting at just under $59,000, it is reasonable to expect the Optiq to start in the low to mid-$50,000 range.
