【Summary】Turkish manufacturer Lámpago has introduced a stylish and streamlined two-seater electric trike. Despite its low top speed of 28 mph, the Lámpago is marketed as a mobility device rather than a thrill ride. It can be operated with just an AM license, meant for smaller engines. The trike features an eye-catching design with vintage accents, but its underpowered drivetrain may limit acceleration and hill climbing. Overall, it offers a stylish and fun option for urban transportation.

Electric trikes have never been known for their coolness factor, but the Lámpago e-trike is here to change that perception. Manufactured in Turkey, the name Lámpago comes from the Spanish word for Lightning, which is ironic considering its top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h).

Delta trikes, which have two wheels in the rear, are not known for their stability in turns. Therefore, it makes sense for the Lámpago to have a lower top speed to ensure safety. The addition of a rear seat for a pillion rider would only make matters worse, as it increases the center of gravity along with a passenger.

Despite its appearance, the Lámpago is marketed more as a mobility device rather than a thrilling ride. In the European market, it does not require a motorcycle license to operate. Instead, riders can use an AM license, which is intended for two-wheelers and three-wheelers with engines of 50cc or smaller.

The design of the Lámpago is certainly eye-catching. From the small left-side door to the Vespa-inspired styling, Chesterfield leather chair upholstery, and vintage two-tone color scheme, it exudes charm. Additionally, the rear storage bag and spare wheel cover add delightful vintage accents to the electric scooter.

However, the Lámpago's drivetrain is underpowered. It features a 60V and 30Ah Li-ion battery pack with only 1.8 kWh of capacity, which is half of what a typical urban electric scooter offers. The tiny 1,000W electric motor also lacks power compared to many electric bicycles, resulting in less-than-desirable acceleration and hill climbing capabilities.

Despite its limitations, the Lámpago is positioned as a replacement for e-bikes or e-scooters. It offers a stylish way to navigate the city, and the spare seat allows riders to bring along a passenger for the ride. For those who prioritize style and the ability to share the experience with a loved one, the Lámpago promises to be a fun choice.
